Who should fix your AI-built app? Vibefixr vs a freelancer vs an agency
Quick answer: Should I hire a freelancer, an agency, or a service like Vibefixr to fix my Lovable app?
For a handful of specific bugs, a fixed-price service or a vetted freelancer is usually the cheapest route. Upwork lists React bug-fix projects at $300–$1,100, and the two Lovable-fix packages we checked on Upwork both started at $99. Agency profiles on Clutch list project minimums from $1,000 to $50,000+, which fits rebuilds better than bug fixes. Vibefixr charges $199 for up to five issues, with a full refund if they aren’t fixed.
We sell one of the three options, so weigh this page accordingly. We’ve tried to be fair: every outside price links to the platform’s own page, and the sections below say when a freelancer or an agency is the better choice.

Freelancers on Upwork and Fiverr
What it costs
- Upwork’s React.js hiring guide: generally $20–$38 an hour, and $300–$1,100 per project for component or bug-fix work.
- Upwork’s React developer cost page: median hourly rates of $51–$75, based on historical contracts worldwide. Different Upwork pages give different ranges, so treat both as rough guides.
- Fixed-price packages on Upwork’s Project Catalog: two Lovable-fix listings we looked at were priced $99 / $199 / $349 and $99 / $349 / $799 for their three tiers. These are examples, not an average.
Fees on top of the listed price
- Fiverr: a service fee of 5.5% of the purchase, plus $3.50 on orders under $200 (Fiverr Help Center). Extras and tips each carry their own fee.
- Upwork: a client marketplace fee on every payment. Upwork’s pricing page shows 5% on the Basic plan, while its help center says up to 7.99%. Eligible US clients paying by bank account pay 3%, and Business Plus is 10%. There’s also a one-time contract initiation fee of $0.99–$14.99 per new contract, which isn’t refunded.
Upsides and risks
Freelancers are flexible: they can build new features, not just fix bugs, and good ones are excellent value. The risk is variation. You write the brief, you judge whether the fix is right, and a security problem like broken Row Level Security can look “fixed” while still leaking data. If you go this way, use the questions further down.
Agencies
What it costs
Clutch’s web development pricing guide says most agencies on the platform charge $25–$49 an hour, agencies in the US, Canada and Australia typically $100–$149, and projects reviewed on Clutch typically cost under $10,000. Many agency profiles in Clutch’s web developer directory also list a minimum project size; on the first page in October 2026 these ranged from $1,000+ to $50,000+.
When an agency is the right call
When you need a rebuild, a new product, a long roadmap or a team that stays with you. An agency brings project management, design and several developers. For five broken things in an app that otherwise works, that structure is usually more than you need.
Vibefixr
Fixed prices
- Scan (free): an automated scan of your repo, with the top issues flagged and results by email.
- Audit ($49): a full security and stability report within 24 hours, with copy-paste fix prompts for your AI tool.
- Fix ($199): up to 5 issues fixed, delivered as a pull request with tests within 72 hours.
- Guard ($79/month): a review of every push, to catch leaks and regressions early. Cancel anytime.
Agents do the work, and a human engineer reviews and signs off every audit and PR. We request read-only access, use your code only to fix it, and delete copies after delivery.
The guarantee
Not fixed? Full refund. Covers the issues you approve before we start. One issue is one distinct bug or security problem with one root cause. We agree the exact list, up to five, with you in writing before work starts.
When we’re not the right fit
- You need new features or a redesign rather than fixes.
- The app needs a rebuild, not five repairs.
- Your stack isn’t JavaScript or TypeScript. We work with most JS/TS stacks: Next.js, React, Vite, Supabase, Firebase, Stripe, Vercel and Netlify.
In those cases a freelancer or an agency is the better choice, and the questions below still apply.
How to choose
- How many problems are there? One or two clear ones: try the free guides, then a freelancer or a fixed-price fix. A long list or a rebuild: an agency.
- Do you know what’s wrong? If not, get a diagnosis first (our free scan or health check), so you’re not paying hourly for someone to look.
- Do you need it rebuilt? Fixes keep your app and your tools. A rebuild replaces them, which is agency territory.
Questions to ask whoever you hire
- Will I get the change as a pull request I can review and undo?
- Will there be tests, so the next AI change doesn’t silently undo the fix?
- How will you check security, for example that one user can’t read another user’s data?
- What access do you need, and what happens to copies of my code afterwards?
- What exactly is in scope, in writing, and what happens if it isn’t fixed?

FAQ
Is a freelancer cheaper than Vibefixr?
Sometimes per hour. Upwork’s React.js hiring guide lists $20–$38 an hour, but the total depends on how many hours it takes, plus platform fees. Vibefixr is a fixed $199 for up to five agreed issues.
Do Upwork and Fiverr add fees?
Yes. Fiverr adds a 5.5% service fee plus $3.50 on orders under $200. Upwork adds a client marketplace fee (its pricing page shows 5% on the Basic plan, its help center says up to 7.99%, and eligible US clients paying by bank account pay 3%) plus a one-time contract initiation fee of $0.99–$14.99.
When should I hire an agency?
For a rebuild, a new product, or an ongoing team. Agencies are set up for projects measured in weeks or months, not five bugs.
What if my problem is bigger than five issues?
The Fix covers up to five, and you choose which go in the agreed list. The $49 Audit gives you a full report with copy-paste fix prompts for the rest. If what you need is a rebuild, a freelancer or agency is the better fit.
Do I keep ownership of the code?
Yes. The fix arrives as a pull request in your own repository, and you decide whether to merge it.
What does “Covers the issues you approve” mean?
One issue is one distinct bug or security problem with one root cause. We agree the exact list, up to five, with you in writing before work starts. The refund applies to those approved issues.
